We found out today that our dossier was sent to Ethiopia on March 24. :) That means our paperwork is likely there as I type this. :) To think that somewhere in Ethiopia is a file with photos of our family, our girls, our house, with all of our personal information - medical, financial, relational, criminal (or lack of criminal, rather)...that is both extremely weird and extremely exciting to me.
Now if our FDL would just come back soon...I'm not too stressed about it (yet) because we likely have a number of months left before our referral comes anyway. But, at the same time, they told us 30 working days at our fingerprinting appointment; that would be April 2, and it is, of course, April 12 - 10 days "late." On the USCIS website, however, it says to plan on 90 days (doesn't seem to clarify working days or total days). That would be May 20 (but who's counting?!? :)). My first thought is to just be patient and wait, but my second thought is that, when I did that during our homestudy process and just assumed everything would happen as I thought it would, things weren't getting done that needed to be getting done, and had I just made a quick phone call back then, we wouldn't have had that 2-month delay...
I think I'll give it another week (or two), but after that I'm calling...not the "I'm-so-fed-up-that-I'm-calling-you-and-where-the-heck-is-our-FDL" call but the (talking in an incredibly sweet voice) "Just-wanted-to-check-in-and-see-if-you-needed-anything-else-from-us"call. That would be ok, wouldn't it? Yes?
Where does the time go??

I think that would be just fine, Julie. :) So glad to see the jump in numbers recently - I'm getting excited to double the niece/nephew count this year, and can't wait to meet and share my love with them. Hang in there and know that I think of you (and Nate, and Sylvie, and Evie) often.
Congrats on the Master's too - what a long journey! I'm proud of you.
YES!!! This is YOUR family. How exciting, dear.
Totally okay, mama.
So excited to read about your journey - thanks so much for keeping us posted!
