Our Weekend

Not a whole lot to report here. We've been having a very nice weekend.

Syl, Ev, and I spent most of the day on Friday with a dear friend and her two little girls - had lunch, visited about "mama stuff," reiterated the need to share over and over to three 3-year-olds...Then Friday evening, a lovely family here in town invited us over for taco and game night. We also enjoyed some chocolate fondue - yum. I commented to Nathan on the way home last night that I felt, for the first time since we moved here (its been nearly 3 years now), that this really is home for me. A good feeling! :)

Saturday, I was planning to take a bunch of residents from the local retirement home where I work (very part-time) over to the Farm Show at the City Auditorium this morning, but my boss called and canceled because of the snow we'd gotten in the night. So, we decided to take the opportunity to do some one-on-one time with each girly. Daddy took Sylvie and hit BK and the used bookstore. Mama took Evie and hit Runza and the local thrift store. We met back at home, and had a leisurely afternoon all together. Nowhere to go, nothing to do - beautiful. :) It's a rare occurrence to have all four of us at home together for an entire day!

Tomorrow, we're planning on church and Sunday school, and then we'll drive up to meet Grandpa and Grandma LeFeber at the circus! I think Ev and Syl will really enjoy it this year (they've been before, but all of the loud noises and occasional "lights out" kind of freaked them out last year...) Hopefully, we'll remember our camera and get some good snapshots.

On the adoption front, it sounds like there's some good movement in our numbers, meaning the people in front of us on the list are getting referrals for their kiddos, meaning its getting closer to our turn. :)

I've also started praying for another kiddo who is up for adoption through the foster care system. Her name is Destiny. Since we're already in the process of another adoption, we're not at a place where we can consider her for our family, but she has been weighing heavily on my heart the past few days. If you'd like to see her photo, head on over to the South Carolina Heart Gallery.

First click on "View the Gallery," next click on "Region I Gallery" - she is the 12th photo. You will see her name, Destiny D., toward the bottom.
