So, we sent in our US-CIS paperwork today (United States Department of Citizenship and Immigration Services). Basically we're notifying the government that we'd like to adopt internationally and we're asking for their consent. In addition, we're asking them for (yet another) fingerprinting appointment for Nathan and I. I guess the first two fingerprinting appointments were with different government agencies who evidently can't just share the information with each other?!? Ah, bureaucracy at its finest. :)
But, we're happy to say that the US-CIS stuff really is the absolute last thing that needs to be completed prior to our referral, which means that our next "major" announcement will be the news that a little one has been referred to us!!! Still an estimated 6-8 month wait, but I feel like the wheels are starting to turn! We're expecting our new January #s any day now, so we'll keep (all two of) you posted. :)
Where does the time go??

Never underestimate the number of people who are reading, friend. I've been following your progress and rejoice with you.
Can't wait! :)
I love reading your blog and the progress of the adoption - count me as 3! Glad to hear that things are rolling along for your family....
I am still expecting some pictures of Evelyn and Sylvia and the "play-doh" cookie dough. I wish I could make some cookies with them!
Thinking of you guys... all the time.
And I'm number four. So you've at least doubled your expected readership at this point. :) We love you guys (even Baby, who is so excited for the best cousins ever, and doesn't even know it yet).
We love this beautiful new one already. Isn't it amazing that you loved him/her possibly before he/she was ever conceived? So very cool!
call me 6!
