Motivated...So Here Are Some Anniversary Trip Photos

Posting more often and getting feedback has motivated me to post AGAIN, for the third time in a week! So, here are some photos from our annual anniversary trip. This year was our 9th wedding anniversary, and we found cheap plane tickets to Albuquerque, New Mexico. The cheap plane tickets plus the fact that we (naturally?) assumed that New Mexico would be warm in December, led us to this year's anniversary destination. But, oh, were we wrong about the warm part - in the 20s and 30s, just about like home, minus some of the snow though.

It was a quick trip. Basically, we traveled one day, had one day there, and traveled another day back home. The night we arrived was December 30 and Nebraska was playing Arizona in the Holiday Bowl. Thankfully, Nathan was gracious enough to let me watch the game (isn't that funny that I'm a bigger football fan than he is?). We found a cute, local restaurant/bar called Coaches where we cheered the Huskers to victory! The next morning, we met several lovely couples at breakfast, one from Texas and one from California, also celebrating their anniversaries. After chatting with them about the best things to do with one day in Albuquerque, we promptly headed down to Old Town (the old part of the city) and did a bunch of touristy things - stores, museum, old church, etc. We ate lunch down there at a local pizza place, and then headed over to Petroglyph National Monument (big hills full of black rocks which were [supposedly] carved on by native people over 1,000 years ago). The hike was good, and the view was beautiful. Next, we drove up into the Sandia Mountains. Another beautiful view. We watched the new moon come up from the top. Afterward, we went down to Nob Hill (a bunch of "hip" restaurants and shops by the University there), looked around, ate supper at Cold Stone (yes, we took advantage of not having our kiddos around to eat ice cream for supper), had some really great conversation, and went back to the Bed and Breakfast. The next day, we flew home.

A great time with a great guy! :) And now, for the photos...

A picture of the adorable porch swing at our B&B that I took so Nathan could build me one just like it!

Nathan standing by a sign that says, SPEED LIMIT 18. Isn't that funny? They were all over Albuquerque. Not 15 mph or 20 mph, but 18!

Me in front of the historic church in Old Town; they haven't missed a service in almost 300 years

One of the many examples of a petroglyph that we saw at Petroglyph National Monument; my interpretation of this particular petroglyph: mate, drink, and sleep!
